new stuff

I have been at my new job for about a month now it is cool, the ladies there are cool there are 4 "sisters" there that keep the day entertaining! the only bad part is not enough hours! I got my car fixed cost about 8 hun... but a girl (with kids) has got to have a ride I also got a new purse D& B it is pink.

My litttle is adjusted to child care I just do not get the "woman" in charge-- but really that is a whole blog for another day. The other ladies are great and my daughter loves them, she knows everyones name she is such a little star, when we are leaving she has to say bye to everyone and they all know her even in the other class. ok I will stop bragging.

My older ones band is off to another winning year - yeah! They have won their 1st competition and have one saturday I will up date "when" they win!

oh yea... I bought a crockpot so we can have some hot home cook meals this winter, I had an old one but I did not like to leave the house with that one plugged in.

I must say I really do miss blogland and I am going to try keep up a little more I think it really is a positive activity -- thanks for reading I have to go catch up on my reading....

Friday, September 22, 2006

I missed you guys... I have been doing so much, lately. I started a new new job. I left the job at the school it was a really hard decision, I loved the kids, even the little bad ones. and the staff they are just the nicest group of people. I told them I could sub for them on my days off.

But I had to look out for my own children and this new position seemed, like a good opportunity, I am doing fraud prevention. It is pretty cool.

Between the two jobs in the past month I have been finger printed, TB tested and security tested, sheesh! I am good to go!

My car is still broken, I will have to wait on that for a minute, It is going to be between $700.00-$1100.00 to get the repairs done. If anyone knows how much a clutch in a Camry should cost let me know so I do not get ripped off.

The bus.... the bus... the bus... do not get me started! It sucks. I can barely get 15 mins away in one hour. ridiculous!

If any one has the link for Mwabi or Krafty Koolbreeze hook me up, I lost 'em and I dont want to have to do a search! Thanks in advance.

Ps baby is enjoyng school and her big sis is on time everyday so far (Knock on wood) must be a cute boy in 1st period LOL

Of all the days to go...

The day before my first day at my new job, my car's clutch gave out. Not only did it go out but it went out on the other side of the bay. So I had to get towed across the bridge, luckily it was only $90.00, trust me I called around and the was the cheapest.

Good thing is my friend and her husband where in the car behind me, took my kids and myself home. Even let me borrow their 2nd car for the 1st day of work. Work was cool, I work at an elementry school and the little kids are very interesting and so cute.

My exhusband watched my little one(he works eveings), he acts like he is doing so much. I "watch" her everyday. When will men understand. He knows I don't have anyone to watch her tommorrow - think he volunteered- NO. Oh well I shall figure it out.

First day of school - 2006 -

Today is the first day of 11th grade for my oldest. She is excited, isn't the first day of school always exciting?! I had to get a pic. the boy next door was waiting for her, so they could walk together. She is in the band agian this year (so is he) and she is playing the french horn. I guess I will get all the scoop, after school.

I have to go to a meeting today so that baby can start preschool tommorrow. Her dad wants to come to her first day (yippe - said with scarcasm) It is wonderful for her, but sometimes he gets on my nerves.

I hope everybody has a great holiday weekend!!! I might take a day trip to Pacifica.

I know its been along time... I have been so busy looking for a job. It is so stressful, seeing as I have been home for 3 yrs. Employers don't really value being the caregiver to an ill parent.

Today I was gone all day and my 2 girls stayed with a friend. I have to say I missed them, I missed baby and watching noggin. on the other hand I think my daughter is going to like being around other children her age, she is so into dramatic play her dolls are "real" to her it is so cute to watch.

My friend is so sweet she came and picked up my girls so I would not have to worry about it before my interview, then she had my daughter bring the luandry with her and wash it at her house, now this may sound weird, we have have a washer and dryer but she wanted to help her get ready for the 1st day of school.

I watched the emmys last night, my Dad always watched them so I did, they were pretty good. I really do miss my dad. We still have his room, I dont think we will use it. It is to sad. Sometimes it is funny, I think I should call him or then I am like "oh yeah I can't" After someone dies you realize how important that person was to holding the family together and what a big role they played.

The fight against formula
Latch-On promotes breast-feeding
By Matthew Artz, STAFF WRITERInside Bay Area
UNION CITY — As the Tri-City area celebrated National Breast-Feeding Week Thursday, Caitlyn might as well have been named Little Miss Union City.
At age 21/2, she uses the toilet, twirls a hula hoop and never passes up an opportunity to drink her mommy's milk.
"She just wouldn't take to a bottle," said her mother, Colleen, a participant in Union City's second annual Latch-On.
About 15 mothers breast-fed their babies Thursday outside the Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center to promote breast-feeding as a healthier alternative to baby formula.
"In some places, women do it for five years. We're fighting for just one," said Esther Najarro, breast-feeding coordinator for the Women Infant Children Program.
The federally funded program provides healthy food vouchers, breast-feeding instruction and nutritional advice for 5,425 women in southern Alameda County. The vouchers, which can be for as much as $166 per child a month, ensure that low-income children receive key nutrients from the womb to age 5.
Since its inception more than 20 years ago,the program has been in the trenches of a battle with formula companies concerning the bellies of infants across the country — a fight that breast-feeding advocates say they are starting to win.
Far more women are breast-feeding today than did 20 years ago, said Janet Watson, a lactation nurse at Kaiser hospital in Hayward.
She said drinking breast milk facilitates brain development and immunity in infants, and also helps prevent juvenile diabetes and obesity. For mothers, breast-feeding reduces the risk of breast and ovarian cancer, she added.
That is the message the WIC Program gives to expecting mothers, but they say it isn't always successful.
"The formula companies try to make women think that they are not enough to feed their infants and that formula is the greatest thing," Najarro said.
Angie Ollendorf of Union City said formula samples started arriving in the mail after she subscribed to Parenting Magazine. She ultimately chose to nurse her infant daughter, a decision that was sometimes difficult for her mother, who had opted for formula.
"When I was still learning how to do it, she would just look at me, like, 'I don't know what to do for you.'"
After 21/2 years, Colleen, who probably could teach her own class on breast-feeding, is preparing for retirement.
"(My daughter) is getting a little too heavy to lie on me," she said. "I think three years will be long enough."

New New New

Well I have been making alot of changes since my Dad passed away, I like some, some I do not like.

I think it is hard for people when you change, I guess they don't know what to do because they are used to the same old you and then all of a sudden you are doing different things. I don't know and I don't want to point out anyone imparticular. Lets just say people are changing.

So I have two interviews this week. They both sound cool and they both are a little more then what I was looking to make so that is cool! We shall see, wish me luck. I want to make the right choice and not just go with the money cuz later you can really regret that.

I also have to go look at preschools, My daughter is getting excited, every day she tells me I wanna go to school. She is already so smart and talking like she is 4 years old. We went to her doctor on friday and the doctor said she is very advanced and will likely be ahead in school.
Every mother likes to hear that. The funny part is she hates going to nursery at church, well let explain she loves going as long as I go also. Her Dr recommend I stay home with her for at least 3 mos, as she just lost her granpa. but I told her the longest I could most likely stay home is until, the end of Aug.

So My FEH* is going to mississppi, to look into some job opportunites working with the Katrina reconstrution, I hope he gets something good. I am all for higher pay cuz it equals higher child support. LOL (in the evil tone)

My best friend said he is planing on moving back to the bay area in the next year (yea) he said is tired of arizona.
(although it has been hot as ---- this week us folks in the bay area are not used to 100+ weather for days on end. including an awful 107!!! on saturday!!!

I almost forgot I recieved 3 cds this past week
India arie - luv it!
and
Mariah (no explaination needed)

FEH = Future Ex-Husband

p.s. married guy got the point and has not called!

ok I gotta go read some blogs

My Birthday

My Birthday was on Saturday.

It was a fun day. My friend Andrea, had to go to a wedding so she brought my gifts over on friday and I was able to open them a little early. She gave me a purse vase, I have started a collection, a box of sees' truffles, a set of bath and shower gels, a poofy (thats what I call it but it's really called a mesh sponge) and some cute scrapbooking embellishments, as well as a gift card to walmart, the girl is setting the bar high, but at least I have until november to get her gift together.

Now my freind Joanna, took my girls and I, out to lunch at my fav. resturaunt which is a big deal be cause she cannot stand this place, she does not like fish and it is a sushi place. Her husband and kids also came. It is called Todai. She also gave me a purse with matching coin purse and make up bag and a really cutepowder brush it is like pretty big and has shimmer body powder in it,as well as some bath and body works cucumber melon shaving gel, with razors, I used it this morning!Lunch was fun I ate so much sushi and laughed it was good.

I think my friends spoiled me because, they know my dad always would, I got some calls and a couple more offers of lunch this week, so uknow I will be enjoying that. Tonight my friend Vince brought me over a cake.

I am never going to lose any pounds! oh well! I put some new pics up on the flicker, including bday pics. check em out.

Remember when I wrote about our friend Ron?

Two men to be charged !

I could not believe it when I read it.

I am still going through my Dads belongings and such, I really miss him I guess that will just have to become a given, my little one told the librarian"my bapa passed away" and you should have seen how the librarian looked at me. very confused. I just said Yes he did on the 7th and she said the expected. My daughter is 2yrs and 4 mos, she is just so smart that people often look at me and ask me how old is she? well I guess I will start putting some stuff on ebay.

A few hours before my Daddy died, My little one did the sweetest thing... We all had gone to the Hospital but I had my girls stay in the waiting area and when I came out of the room I said come on lets go, (I had already had them say goodbye and give him a hug and a kiss the day before) but my little on said "Mommy I want to see baapa, so I took in the room and she folded her arms and put her head down then she rubbed my dads arm, next she closed her eyes and said Heavenly Father, my baapa my daddy my baapa, Amen. then she said Bye baapa I love you. Talk about being close to the spirit and making us cry. I really believe children can feel the spirit. My older daughter has had a couple dreams one was her and her grandpa racing, her on her bike and him on his scooter, and another was that he was sitting talking to his friend Ron. (the one who was killed in Jan, I wrote about it, you can check the archives) that made us both cry cuz I was like, He probably is. I had some dreams to, one was that he was here and I said Dad they told me you died and he said " well after they took all those tube out of me and took me downstairs I was Ok" I think was a dream to help me feel comfort and know he is Ok. I called my cousin on the eastcoast to tell her and she told me "I dreampt about him last week and I was crying in the dream" now I do not talk to her often she did not even know he was in the hospital. She spent her childhood with my dad so they had/have a bond. My mom also had a dream about him unfortunetly I forgot what her dream entailed. I told my friend Andrea about these dreams and she was all "he is making the rounds!" I thought that was cute. We are doing ok , we have had so many dinners and flowers brought to us and calls, that yesterday I just stayed in the house all day. I needed a down day. I have some stuff to get done today. Thankyou all for your wonderful comments!

Update

edit ---day 13, the hospital called and said and your dad is awake watching tv luckily my husband had stayed over so I left the kids and got to the hospital in 15mins when I got there he was all slouched over and I said hi dad and he said pull me up so the nurse and I did the I put some moistend swabs in his mouth and he said whats that and I told him he has said yes and no but thats all and he looks at the people you tell him to which is big. Rite aid called and said I was the grand prize winner of a disney TV way cool I just picked it up it is pink! I am on my way back to the hospital now.
My dad has not been very responsive the past 2 days. On wedensday he told me he was glad I was there and we hung out and watched Tv, thursday and friday he was nonreponsive and his doctor has given us the "talk" so I have been very sad to say the least. Camping out at the hospital is not easy with a 2 yr old but I have to say she has been on her best behavior. I bought her a portable dvd player and some new movies plus I bought a ton of snacks and a little chair that is just her size. I also got myself one of those tri fold lounge chairs. Makes things a lot more comfortable. friday night my friend Joanna and I went to the hospital and my dad was semi consious and moving around I did not know what to do but I noticed his tougne was all dried out since he is on a feeding tube. so I got some moistned swabs and did his whole mouth and put vasiline on his lips, he opened his mouth for the swab and follewed me with his eyes, which he had not done for 2 days. then I gave him a shave and put the tv on for him. He calmed down and went to sleep I felt so much better by the time I left. I am very blessed women from chuch have brought dinner to us for the past 5 days and 2 days last week. People have driven my children to and from the hospital and offered to watch them as well as just checking in on me daily as well as visiting my dad. With out church I do not know how I would handle this. I am still hoping for a miracle. Even though I understand reality, I refuse to just give up. Even his doctor said he will not give up on him.

Thursday, June 01, 2006

My Dad is not doing any better, the doctor has given him a negitive prognosis. These are trying times for us, please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

Dad is in the ICU

My Dad is in the ICU, we have been back and forth in the hospital for the past 3 weeks and know they have him in the ICU. It could be hepatorenal syndrom, which is very bad! I hope it is not, I love my Dad, he has taken being a father very seriously, not like 98% of the men these days. I just want him to be better so we can annoy each other again. Without my Dad I will be lost, lonely & afraid! Please keep us in your prayers and thoughts.

Mothers Day 2006 Style!

The whole lead up to Mother's day kills me it is so commercialized...

But none the less I had a great mothers day. My dad paid for new church outfits for myself and the girls and my girls gave me some hand made chocolate flowers in a flower pot (my oldest made them at a young women's activity) I also received a cute purse. My husband gave me a card and some money.

The day started out nice I was in bed and the baby was laying down watching "Dora" my oldest came in with my gifts and the baby said I want to eat that candy so I gave her so her some.

My oldest then said mom grandpa's in the bathroom with the light out, I told her to ask him if he is ok. She did and said he said yes. then she was going to start making us breakfast so we could get ready for church ....

well I looked in on my dad and he was not ok he was shaking and and not talking, I ask him a few questions and he did not respond, I then called an ambulance, they came and he ended up in the hospital by the time I left the hospital (5pm). He was awake and talking so that was good.

He had high blood sugar levels, high potassium levels and high ammonia levels.

I talked to him this morning and he is making sense and sounding well!

You say haw can that be a great mothers day? Well I was with my girls and my dad is doing better, plus I did not have to cook cuz, the hospital cafeteria is good.

I hope you all had a happy mothers day!

I am potty training right now so I have to tell you last night my little one stopped playing took off her pants and went poopys on her potty, with out being asked or with telling anyone it was so exciting I have been telling her if she goes poopy on the potty I will give her a dollar, so after all the hoopla, she ask "wheres my dolla" I gave it to her she has been carring it all day. Have you seen the comercial with david spade where he says "whats in you wallet?" Well the other day little one says "no I have money in my wallet." It was too funny! She is also telling knock knock jokes they are not very funny they consist of knock knock, who's there, banana, banana who, apple. you can insert any word into this sentence, she thinks its funny!

Happy Easter

Since it is Easter, I thought I would look up a few Easter Symbols:

The Easter Hare:
Germany- Once upon a time there was a woman who loved children and hid easter eggs in her garden for them. As the children searched for the eggs they saw a hare hopping by and thought he had left the eggs for them. Now German children make nests for the Easter Eggs. In America, the Easter Bunny brings eggs and other treats in baskets.
The Lamb:
Jesus is associated with the paschal lamb in the Exodus story. The blood of the Passover lamb caused the angel of death to "pass over" the Israelites. John the Baptist calls Jesus "The Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world" (John 1:29).
The Egg:
The shell can be seen as a nurturing, life giving tomb. The hatching chick represents Christ emerging from the tomb. The resurrection symbolism of the egg is enhanced by the legend of the phoenix.
The Resurrection of Jesus
The universal resurrection became a reality with the Resurrection of Jesus Christ (see Matt. 27:52-53). On the third day after His death and burial, Jesus came forth out of the tomb. He appeared to several men and women, and then to the assembled Apostles.
The Book of Mormon:
Another Testament of Jesus Christ records the experience of hundreds who saw the risen Lord in person and touched Him, feeling the prints of the nails in His hands and feet and thrusting their hands into His side. The Savior invited a multitude to have this experience "one by one" (3 Ne. 11:15) so that they could know that He was "the God of Israel, and the God of the whole earth, and [had] been slain for the sins of the world" (3 Ne. 11:14).
Have a wonderful Easter!

Sorry Blog, I have been neglecting you.

My name is pink_princess7873 and I have zero days... I am so addicted to Ebay it is not even funny I swear it is all I think about. I even dream about ebay. I am buying and selling.

I have had to force myself to go to bed and in the morning I have to check my bids.

I even make sure to be home in time to get that last minute bid in.

Between that and mary kay, I have been neglecting my blog. I think up things I want to write about but then that pesky ebay link calls my name.

I did get out side, They opened up a WINGSTOP, by my house, now I have never been a wing fan cuz I am like why eat a wing, when you can have a breast. All the meat with out the work. Plus my dad was always antiwing, he prides himself on not eating "certain" foods - including wings, chitlins, pig ears, catfish, you get the idea. BUT.. Wingstop is yummy, I have the original and the hawiian, (you can mix the flavors in the order) I am going to have to force myself not to go there, because those are some serious calories. (but so good)

Today I went to:
Joanna's house
wingstop
riteaid
starbucks
library
postoffice
highschool (pick up daughter)
BofA
Wells Fargo
safeway
church (to drop off my daughter)
home

Was that enough places for one day.

Well American Idol was ok I thought Ace should have gone home, Bucky sang better.
I still like Chirs.

Ok I guess I will go to bed now even though I want to go on ebay.
PS The name in pink is my ebay name.

White or Black

Ok so this was my response to a post on Koolbrezze blog I liked the topic so I thought I would put it here and see what you think.

memoirs of a non-geisha said...
Ok I could go on for days about this subject ... As far as the N word it is not aloud in my house, period. Growing up we where not aloud to say it either or The C word (cracker)As for Biracial children, I grew and was always taught I am Biracial saing I am black would deny my mother and saying I am white would deny my father. I am the same with my daugters. They are Biracial because, I am. As far as how the world sees me screw them, I will never be "enough of any race" to make any of them happy, I just have to be me.

It's payday! ( for most)

That's the cool thing about a real job you have a payday, now if you are like me; you have to be on the hustle, so pay day can be any day or no day!
I have two Mary Kay Parties this weekend, wish me luck!
I really enjoy selling Mary Kay and if I do good this weekend
I am going to pay for a MK website its any 25.00 for a year but
I only want to use money I make from MK on MK.
That way I do not go into the hole, I do not keep an inventory I only buy
When I make a sale.
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
This morning I walked my older one partway to school and on the way back my little one pointed at our car and said "mommy lets go to Starbucks"
is it funny or sad , I do not even drink coffee. She likes the vanilla milk and I love the black and white hot chocolate. I like meeting my friends there, so I guess its not that bad, plus our Starbucks has a big water fountain in front so my little love getting to throw pennies in it. I bet I give her about 100 pennies a week , to throw in there.
We are going at 2pm, to meet my friend, Danisha we started weight watchers yesterday and I have all the points book that I bought awhile ago, so I am going to let her look at them.
I hope to lose about 20 lbs... Summers coming, got to be cute you know I needs me a MAN, A real Man.. (that's a whole-nother blog unto its self)
Peace, have a great weekend!
Do some stuff I wouldn't do!
Excuse me for the shameless plug!
Anybody need a new dooney, cheap?
All profits will benefit me.
OK and my kids,
They are always spending
my money.

I cant believe she is gone!

Why America? Mandesa was one of the best singers on AI. It was evident that no one could believe it the whole audience was shocked. I guess Thats how the show goes. No one is safe. I am also Chirs Fan, I hope he lasts.

I went to Starbucks and other stuff I did on Tuesday.

Tuesday was an interesting day I kinda woke up in a bad mood... I knew that my (not yet ex)husband was planning on coming over and that my dad was going to want to go some places. I didn't feel like doing anything and the house was a mess!

Well he called and said he was on his way so I started cleaning up (not just because he was coming over) but I have to say I did move faster than I usually would have!
My husband must have been in a good mood or maybe he missed us or something cuz...
He actually did some yard work (he cut all the hedges along the walkway-they were growing over),
He changed a poopy diaper! (and took it outside)
He dressed baby after her bath,
He carried my moms shopping bags to the car, (I had did some shopping for her) ,
He sat in the nail shop, while I had my nails and toes done.
and We watched American Idol.

Now this may all sound like no big deal but let me tell you he is not usually a very personable person. Don't worry we are not getting back together or anything.

I did not end up having to take my dad anywhere his friend came over and they went some places. Lucky me! I love my dad and he is a good dad but some times it is good for him to hang out with his friends and for me to hang out with my friends!

I even invented a new dinner...
1 large can season diced tomato (don't drain)
1 can corn (drain)
1 large can (rinsed) black beans
1/2 box small pasta or 2 cups rice
1 6oz can seasoned chicken (you can use fresh chicken if you plan ahead)
teaspoon onion powder
red pepper flakes (add to your taste, I like mine spicy)
put everything except the pasta in a pan, start heating make pasta or rice in a separate pan (drain pasta) add to other pan , stir and serve, this makes about 6 or 7 servings.

It is yummy and inexpensive, I would say this dish costs about 3.50,
I made it because it is so easy and only takes a few mins.

So my day did not end up all that bad after all.
I almost forgot my new business cards came, they are so cute, and one of my ebay purcahses also arrived. (the mailman must think I am an ebay junkie)

How I save money or I don't look broke, do I !

I have been told more than once that I should share, my money saving tips with others.

I really do not want to start a whole new blog so I think from time to time I will post them here. I am not sure if I will do always on Mondays, but maybe I will.

Now I have Prada taste on a broke B's budget. I always worked from the time I was 14. I started out with my 1st job at taco bell making about 5.00 hr($10,400/yr) (multiply 2080 -thats the work hours in a year by your hourly rate of pay or divide your yearly salary by 2080- to see what you really make ex 80,000/2080=38.46/hr) and my last job before the baby, selling advertising space for about $80,000/yr. I now stay home with my Dad (who is ill) and my baby! But I still carry a designer bag and umbrella and my kids still rock designer clothes. We still eat out weekly and enjoy Direct TV.
You can Have It All, If You Shop Smart!

I will list some of my strategies right here for YOU!

Groceries-Get the newspaper and look at the coupons-Only save the ones for things you already use or really want to try out! That is so important. Otherwise you are wasting money, Find a Quality dollar store there are some out there, with good merchandise in them. Go there 1st, alot of times they have things I would have paid $2 for at walmart, You say whats the big deal it's only 2 bucks yeah but times that by 10 items that's 10.00 bucks toward that Coach Bag you have been eyeing at Nordstrom! See it all adds up and cleaning products can almost all be bought at the dollar store expect Gain(laundry). I buy that at walmart - gotta smell - good! All basics can be bought at Food max (might have a different name where you live. Then go to your regular grocery store and get those thing you just love you know you specialty items. If you do all your shopping in one store I am warning you what you save in one department you are paying for in another! Don't forget most medicine like Tylenol and claritin all have a generic sitting on the shelf right next to them, same for cleaning products and trust me they all work just as good!

Clothes and Shoes- Never buy from the front of the store that is where the most expensive items are. Better yet, Go to the 2nd hand store or a resale shop, these are really beginning to be trendy, I get almost everything there. Take the time and go out to your wealthy neighborhoods (they have them) They call them consignment shops. I have gone to some in areas like Blackhawk and Danville for those you out of state people these are the areas where The Niners and Raiders buy homes E40 lives out there. I have bought many nice items out there, like cashmere sweaters and banana republic skirts for less then $10.00. That's where I got my Gucci sunglasses. I picked up 3 pairs of Steve Madden open toe high heel sandals for 3 bucks each and my dad was with me so we got the Senior discount. This was a one closer to my house. I also bought a brand new dooney for 45.00 on Saturday at a white elephant sale.

Yard sales- These are great for household Items, We just bought a cannon printer for 10.00 and the ink cartridges for 5.00 at a yard sale. You can look these up on Craigslist. Go early and if you see they are charging to much leave and go back at the end of the day, they are tired they don't want to put all that "junk" back in the house. I bought my little one a cute pink American Idol shirt, khaki pants and some cute black shoes all for $1.50.

Ebay I love ebay they have everything thing on there but becareful always add up cost of Item and shipping before you bid and go check the items website sometimes it cheaper on the original website ie: I wanted a Kate Spade diaper bag, I saw one on Ebay then went to Kate spade web site and found out that item was clearance I could actually go to the Nieman Marcus outlet and get it for less than ebay! Don't get me wrong you can get some great deals on Ebay ... Put the item On your watch list and do not bid until this last minute otherwise you are just driving up the bids. I just Paid 9.99 for about 65.00 worth of Mary Kay. (not make up but things I need when I hold my skin care classes).

I could go on and on but I won't. These was an overview of some of the things I do.

The reason I added in the equation for hourly pay is so that you can realize what your money means to you.

Off to read your blogs! Tell what you think of my ideas!
